yet another little existential crises.
I almost fled to the Arctic Circle for the summer.
It turns out that my workplace was either confused or just kidding. ha! I am now employed full-time at the Phoenix Academy of Learning Society. (Here is the website if you are interested in more details. http://www.phoenixacademy.ca/) Henceforth, it will most likely be refered to as PALS.
Now that some of the chaos has subsided, it is an exciting place to work. It is the first school for children with autism in British Columbia, and I don't think there are many in Canada. Our first days were spent figuring out how to work together, and unpacking boxes of random donations and trying to create some order in a space that is still being developed. We are pioneers.
Today was our first day with children and I met one of the delightful children whom I will be in charge of. She is a natural artist, and a playful child who flaps her arms and does a happy dance when she gets excited.
ah, it feels great to have a steady job.
