the most active weekend ever. (or in eight years.)

This past weekend I think I had the most active weekend I have had in about eight years. Yeah, I felt like I was back in high school, reliving my stint as an intentional athlete.
On Saturday I played in a competitive co-ed volleyball tournament, and because I was one of the required two females, I played for five hours straight. It was surprisingly fun for not playing much since high school, and playing on a really high net against men who could hit really hard.

But then, I hurt in muscles I forgot that I had. And Sunday morning was the Sun Run, the 10km race I had been training for. I ached going in, I ached during, and I really ached afterwards! I did not do as awesome as I had hoped, but I did still beat my time two years ago. Finished in 1 hour, 3 minutes and 15 seconds. And had a fun time with some friends running the race with me, all of us part of the 55 000+ people!

I've been taking it easy since then as my body temporarily felt 50 years older. Soon I shall feel spry again and then hopefully the running and volleyball playing shall continue.

change is good.

I made a few changes to the old blog site, as you may have guessed.

I also started up one for my art and art therapy, which is located here:

There's not much to look at there yet, but stay posted!

ps. Happy Easter!

the wedding bells have rung, a bigger family has begun.

Last Saturday, my sister Leanne got married! It was a really beautiful wedding, and a lot of fun! I may be a bit biased, but I venture to say that it was the best!

Here are some photographs of the wedding, compliments of Beka (Schreur) Schott, who photographed the affair.

Beka is amazing.
After photographing the wedding, she flew back with me to Vancouver and stayed with me here for the week. It has been so inspiring and exciting spending time with her again. I was sad to see her go back to California today.

(Another one of her photographs.)

And now, after a couple of weeks of craziness, life resumes back to its normal, steady state... now with an added brother and nephew in law.
